Hi everyone!
We had a change of plans last week in regards to
Taylor
’s scans. He had a very bad stomach virus last week that lasted almost five days. He hadn’t been that sick since his days of chemo. He was pretty dehydrated by the fifth day and his pediatrician was leaning toward sending us to
Chilton
Hospital
. Thankfully, the next morning he began feeling better and was finally able to keep some food and water down. Cameron was also sick with a cold and he cut his first tooth during all of the chaos of last week! Cameron was hospitalized with RSV this past December. As a result of the RSV he has developed asthma. Each time he gets a cold we need to use a nebulizer to give him breathing treatments every few hours to help him breath better. Even during the night! That being said, we did not have a very fun week last week. The whole time I kept telling myself how great it is to be caring for children with regular illness' that are going to go away on there own very soon. The other reason that we didn’t go into
New York
is because
Taylor
’s MRI was cancelled due to a new patient needing his time slot.
Taylor
has been done for more than a year now and I was told that patients having scans that are not medically necessary are sometimes bumped to make room for those who are newly diagnosed or in treatment. If one scan is cancelled they all get cancelled since he gets an IV for anesthesia. His scans are now scheduled for April 13th and 14th! I will let you know how he does shortly thereafter!
We love you all,
Jen, Matt, Taylor, and Cameron
