Taylor's Progress
August 27, 2005

Hello everyone!

We hope you have been enjoying these summer days and beautiful weather, when it’s not too hot. Our little family is terrific and we have been having a wonderful summer together. We recently had our family vacation in Long Beach Island with my side of the family.  It is always so nice to spend time as a whole family and have so many treasured memories with them and our boys.  My aunts, uncles, and even my 91 year old Great-Grandmother came down for a visit while we were there!  Now that we’re home, 14 month old Cameron has been walking around the house calling out, ”Bapa…Bapa”  in search of my Dad, his Grandpa. I think they miss the family and all the extra love and kisses they received daily!  Both boys also had the time of their lives on the beach and in the waves!  We couldn’t believe how the baby just kept running right into the water along with his big brother and cousins!  We call him our extreme sport baby!  Matt, a former surfer from southern California , is so happy that these kids are little surfer boys and that they love the ocean at such a young age.  My Mom bought Taylor a small body board and he was actually catching waves like a little pro! Taylor also had a blast at his first trip to a water park on the island!  He was like a little wild man on those slides, and the faster the better according to him! We just thank the Lord every day for how greatly He has blessed us and has spared us our little boy, and how much we appreciate Taylor in our life!  He’s just the picture of health now!   Most days it’s hard to believe that he went through all that he did, but the memories are still there and so they will always be.  God has a purpose for all things and has great things in store for Taylor, I am sure.  Right now, Taylor is so very excited to begin school at our Jacksonville Chapel nursery school next month.  He loved the 3 year old class last year and he did very well.  We’re sure he’ll accomplish great things in the Pre-K class this year also!

Taylor ’s scans went very well late last month!  He was so calm and cooperative the whole three days.  They had no trouble getting the IV in, which means that his veins are recovering from all of his treatment.  He is cancer free and he made it to the 18 month mark!  If his cancer was going to return, it would most likely do so in the first 18 months after treatment.  We are so glad to have reached this point and have such a healthy and happy child!  Taylor had a big surprise at his scans this time.  He met NASCAR driver Kyle Petty (son of Richard Petty) at the hospital!  He signed a photo for Taylor and we (even Cameron) had our picture taken with Kyle.  NASCAR is a huge supporter for children’s hospitals and kids with life threatening illnesses.  Taylor was in his glory and he talked about meeting him for days afterwards!  Taylor will have his next set of scans in late January.  His next checkup will be on September 13th.  I will let you know how it goes later next month.  Enjoy the rest of the summer!

We love you all,

Jen, Matt, Taylor, and Cameron
